Template:Unreferenced Aricia (Template:Lang-grc) was, according to Greek mythology, a niece of Aegeus. She was the last of the Pallantides and may have married Virbius (the name by which Hippolytus was known after he was brought back to life on the request of Artemis). Aricia was also a location holy to Diana near Rome where Egeria, the spirit of a nearby stream who shared with Diana the guardianship of childbirth. Aricia is also a major character in Jean Racine's tragedy, Phèdre.
